NL : Jip Dwarshuis’ werk is ontstaan vanuit een fascinatie voor vorm, materiaal en het onverwachte. Hij ontwerpt objecten die opvallen in een ruimte. Functionaliteit speelt een belangrijke rol, maar zijn ontwerpen functioneren tegelijkertijd als echte eyecatchers. Elk meubel, woonaccessoire of object dat hij maakt trekt de aandacht en nodigt uit om er langer naar te kijken.
Door te experimenteren met verschillende technieken en materialen onderzoekt hij voortdurend nieuwe vormen. Tijdens zijn proces zoekt hij constant naar nieuwe combinaties tussen materialen zoals hout, resin, metaal en upcycled elementen. Voor hem is niets te gek en hij zoekt altijd de grens op. Het materiaal dat hij gebruikt is niet alleen functioneel, maar ook een manier om mensen te verrassen. Juist in het combineren van ambachtelijke technieken met experimentele vormen ontstaat voor hem iets interessants.
Zijn ontwerpen bewegen zich tussen kunst en design. Hij vindt het belangrijk dat een object niet alleen bruikbaar is, maar ook een verhaal of gevoel oproept. Sommige ontwerpen zijn speels en uitgesproken, andere juist minimalistisch met subtiele details, maar originaliteit staat altijd centraal.
Als maker is Jip voortdurend op zoek naar vernieuwing. Hij gelooft dat design sterker wordt wanneer het risico durft te nemen en niet volledig binnen bestaande verwachtingen blijft. Daarom daagt hij zichzelf steeds opnieuw uit met nieuwe technieken en materialen. Ook al is de uitdaging groot, hij zoekt altijd naar een manier om het idee in zijn hoofd werkelijkheid te maken op zijn eigen manier.
Zijn doel is om een wereld te creëren waarin uniek design weer meer geliefd wordt en meer aandacht krijgt in een wereld waar massaproductie de baas is en alles steeds sneller en goedkoper gemaakt moet worden. Daardoor gaan design en interieur steeds meer op elkaar lijken en verdwijnt originaliteit langzaam naar de achtergrond. Met zijn werk wil Jip ontwerpen maken die mensen verrassen, inspireren en bijblijven.

Functionality plays an important role, but at the same time his designs function as true eyecatchers. Every piece of furniture, home accessory, or object he creates attracts attention and invites people to look at it for longer.
By experimenting with different techniques and materials, he continuously explores new forms. Throughout his process, he constantly searches for new combinations between materials such as wood, resin, metal, and upcycled elements. For him, nothing is too crazy, and he is always looking for the edge of what is possible. The materials he uses are not only functional, but also a way to surprise people. It is precisely in the combination of traditional craftsmanship and experimental forms that he finds something truly interesting.
His designs move between art and design. He believes it is important that an object is not only functional, but also evokes a story or emotion. Some designs are playful and outspoken, while others are more minimalistic with subtle details, but originality always remains at the core.
As a maker, Jip is constantly searching for innovation. He believes design becomes stronger when it dares to take risks and does not stay completely within existing expectations. That is why he continuously challenges himself with new techniques and materials. Even when the challenge is significant, he always looks for a way to turn the idea in his mind into reality in his own way.
His goal is to create a world in which unique design becomes appreciated and valued again, in a time where mass production dominates and everything is expected to be made faster and cheaper. As a result, design and interiors increasingly start to look the same, while originality slowly fades into the background. Through his work, Jip aims to create designs that surprise people, inspire them, and leave a lasting impression.
